| Usage: |
This panel can be used for regular monitoring of Thalassemic children on chronic blood transfusion with the objectives: To ensure that pre-transfusion Hemoglobin is maintained between 9 and 10 g/dL; To detect the development of leukopenia or thrombocytopenia; To monitor iron status by measuring serum ferritin; To detect the side effects of transfusion or complications of chelation therapy early; Early detection and management of transfusion-transmitted infections. |
