Oligodendrocyte transcription factor (OLIG2) is involved in the phenotypic definition of cells of oligodendroglial lineage. Oligodendrogliomas genetically differ from diffuse Astrocytomas. They respond to only certain types of chemotherapy. Hence there is a prognostic and therapeutic value inaccurate diagnosis of Oligodendroglial tumors like Oligodendrogliomas & Oligoastrocytomas. |
