HBME-1 (Human Bone Marrow Endothelium-1) is a marker for Mesothelial cells. It is used to differentiate between Mesothelioma and Adenocarcinoma. In the former, there is thick continuous membranous staining whereas the latter shows thin discontinuous staining. It is also used to differentiate between Papillary carcinoma thyroid from Follicular carcinoma along with CK-19 & Galectin-3. |
