Usage: Carbonic anhydrase-9 is an enzyme encoded by the CA-9 gene. It is over-expressed in many types of cancers including Clear cell renal cell carcinoma and to a certain extent in carcinomas of the cervix, breast & lung. It promotes tumor growth by enhancing tumor acidosis. The clone EP161 of Carbonic anhydrase 9 shows immunopositivity in Clear cell Renal carcinoma and Papillary Renal cell carcinoma while being negative in adjoining non-neoplastic renal tissue.
