| Usage: |
Synovial Sarcoma accounts for 5-10% of soft-tissue sarcomas and the majority (90%) of them carry the t(X;18) translocation. This translocation results in the fusion of the SYT gene at 18q11 with either the SSX1/SSX2 gene or rarely with the SSX4 gene. Detection of this translocation is highly specific for Synovial Sarcoma and it is seen in all the three histological variants namely monophasic, biphasic & poorly differentiated. |
