| Usage: | Serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine; 5-HT) is one of the most thoroughly characterized biologically active substances released by Carcinoid tumors. Carcinoids are neuroectodermal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas. Midgut Carcinoids release a large quantity of Serotonin into circulation; however, tumors derived from the foregut and hindgut may produce a relatively small amount of Serotonin. | ||||||
