As women age, serum FSH concentrations in the early follicular phase begin to increase. Thus rise in basal FSH is an excellent indicator of ovarian aging. Basal serum FSH & Estradiol levels have been the screening test of choice for assessing ovarian reserve. Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH) also helps to assess ovarian status including follicle development, ovarian reserve, and ovarian responsiveness. |
