This test is useful for the detection of mutations in the Patatin-like Phospholipase domain containing 3 (PNPLA3) and Transmembrane 6 Superfamily Member 2 (TM6SF2) gene. This test can detect the M variant of PNPLA3 and the K variant of TM6SF2. These genes are linked to Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). |
