Methotrexate is an anti-neoplastic agent effective against malignancies with rapid cell proliferation like Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Choriocarcinoma & Carcinomas of the breast, tongue, pharynx & testes. The serum concentration of Methotrexate is commonly monitored during high-dose therapy (>50 mg/m2). This helps to identify the exact time at which Leucovorin rescue should be initiated. |
