| Usage: |
Aneuploidies are major causes of perinatal death and childhood handicap. A maternal serum screening test is an effective screening method for the detection of major aneuploidies like Trisomy 21 & Trisomy 18/13 in the first trimester of pregnancy. Screening by a combination of fetal nuchal translucency and maternal serum Free Beta HCG & Pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) can identify about 90% of fetuses with trisomy 21 and other major aneuploidies with a false-positive rate of 5%. |
