pS2 expression in breast carcinoma is not a characteristic of specific histological types. It is predominantly expressed in ER-positive tumors & differentiated tumors. However, in 30% of cases, it can show ER independent expression. pS2 & ER immunohistochemical status are useful tools for predicting tumor regression with neoadjuvant Tamoxifen therapy in postmenopausal breast carcinoma patients. |
