PLAP (Placental Alkaline Phosphatase) is a marker of Germ cell tumors & is expressed by a variety of tumors like Classic seminoma, Embryonal carcinoma, Yolk sac tumor, Choriocarcinoma & Intratubular germ cell neoplasia. It is sometimes positive in cases of spermatocytes seminoma. Positive staining is also seen in Dysgerminoma & Gonadoblastoma. Few epithelial tumors like Serous carcinoma also express PLAP. |
