PD-L1 (Programmed Death Ligand 1) is expressed on tumor cells and binds with PD-1 which is expressed on immune cells. This interaction hampers the immune response against tumor cells. Drugs have been developed to block this interaction & boost the immune response. PD-L1 expression is used to guide immunotherapy decisions. Clone SP263 is a companion diagnostic for Pembrolizumab / Durvalumab therapy in Non-Small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). |
