| Usage: |
p40 is a relatively new marker for the diagnosis of Squamous cell carcinoma and is particularly used for differentiating NSCLC into Adenocarcinoma & Squamous cell carcinoma. This marker is as sensitive as p63 but shows a superior specificity for Squamous cell carcinoma (96%). P40 is also expressed in 4.6% of cases of Adenocarcinoma. It is negative for prostate & breast carcinoma. |
