| Usage: |
Neuron Specific Enolase (NSE) aids in the diagnosis of Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN). Diagnosis of these neoplasms is challenging due to their heterogeneous nature. NSE is expressed in 78% of such tumors originating in the breast, lung, stomach & kidney. This test is used along with other markers to confirm the diagnosis of NENs as well as to identify Adenocarcinomas with neuroendocrine differentiation. |
