| Usage: |
Inhibin is useful in the diagnosis of Sex cord-stromal tumors of the ovary and testis. This test is used to differentiate sex cord-stromal tumors from other primary ovarian neoplasms as only Granulosa cell tumors & Sertoli cell tumors are positive. Inhibin immunostaining is also helpful in identifying potential steroid hormone-secreting cells in the non-neoplastic stromal component of epithelial cells, germ cells & other ovarian tumors. |
