| Usage: |
Galectin-3 has been demonstrated to be valuable in differentiating between benign and malignant thyroid neoplasms. Its expression generally is focal in benign lesions as compared to diffuse reactivity in malignant lesions. Normal thyroid tissue is usually negative for Galectin-3. This marker especially helps to differentiate thyroid neoplasms with equivocal morphologic features. |
