DOG-1 is a highly specific and sensitive marker for diagnosing Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST). Accurate diagnosis is critical to guide neoadjuvant therapy & surgical approach as Leiomyosarcomas are histologically similar. Some reports have shown that Acinic cell carcinomas arising from the salivary gland may also stain with DOG-1. |
