| Usage: |
CD57 is used as a marker of natural killer cells and a subset of follicular T helper cells. It is immunoreactive in tumors of neuroectodermal origin such as Small cell carcinoma of the lung and Carcinoid tumors and is positive in Adenocarcinomas of the prostate as well as normal and hyperplastic prostatic epithelium. Increased numbers of CD57-positive T cells are present in the background of Lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma. |
