| Usage: |
Arginase is a urea cycle metalloenzyme specifically expressed in hepatocytes & useful as a general hepatocellular marker. Nuclear & cytoplasmic positivity is seen in benign and malignant hepatocytes. It is used to confirm hepatocellular origin in cases of Metastatic carcinoma although some cases of Cholangiocarcinoma are also positive. Arginase-1 is a sensitive and specific marker for the identification of Hepatocellular carcinoma. |
