| Specimen: |
3 mL (2 mL min.) whole blood in 1 Lavender Top (EDTA) tube, AND 3 mL (1 mL min.) serum from 1 metal free White Top (Z-No Additive) tube OR 3 mL (1 mL min.) plasma from 1 metal free Royal Blue Top (K2EDTA) tube available from LPL. AND 3 mL (1 mL min.) serum from 1 SST. Wrap tube in aluminum foil to protect from light. Overnight fasting is preferred. The patient should avoid sea/freshwater fish 3 days prior to specimen collection. Use powderless gloves during specimen collection. Specify age and sex on the test request form. Ship refrigerated or frozen. |
