Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and c-ROS1 oncogene (ROS1) rearrangements represent the two most frequent fusion targets in lung adenocarcinoma. ALK gene has more than 20 known rearrangement partner genes, with 15 variants of the most common EML4-ALK fusion. ROS1 has 7 partners described so far in NSCLC. The frequency of ALK rearrangement is 3-7% & ROS1 rearrangement is 1-2% in NSCLC. It is well known that patients with ALK/ROS1 rearrangement benefit from Crizotinib therapy. |
