Monosomy 20 or del(20q) is a non-random chromosomal abnormality reported in a variety of hematological neoplasms such as Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) & pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Monosomy 20 results in the removal of tumor suppressors in the region of chromosome 20, which in turn contributes to the development of malignancy. |
