| Usage: |
Complete deletion of the short arm of chromosome 1 (1p) & long arm of chromosome 19 (19q) is a genetic signature of Oligodendrogliomas. 1p/19q co-deletion is a valuable diagnostic, prognostic & predictive biomarker for the management of oligodendroglial tumors. As per WHO 2016 guidelines, detection of 1p/19q co-deletion along with IDH gene mutation is required for the diagnosis of Grade II & Grade III (Anaplastic) Oligodendrogliomas. |
