| Usage: |
Calprotectin is a neutrophilic marker specific for inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. It is elevated in cases of infections, post-infectious Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome (IBS) & NSAID Enteropathy. Fecal calprotectin is used to differentiate IBD from IBS, to monitor treatment in IBD & to determine patients to be referred for endoscopy and/or colonoscopy. |
