| Usage: |
Liquid-based cytology increases the sensitivity of the detection of precancerous cervical lesions. Screening has substantially reduced the mortality rate due to Cervical cancer. Screening guidelines recommend regular PAP testing for all women greater than 21 years of age. At age 30, women who have had 3 normal test results in a row may get screened every 2 to 3 years. Women between 65-70 years with no abnormal results in the previous 10 years can stop screening. Women after Total hysterectomy for non-cancerous causes do not require screening. |
