| Usage: |
This test is used to detect and confirm the presence of the drug Cocaine and its metabolite in urine. Cocaine is a powerful stimulant drug made from the cocoa plant. Cocaine is a potent CNS stimulant with local anesthetic & vasoconstrictor properties. Benzoylecgonine and Ecgonine methyl esters are principal urinary metabolites. Following cocaine use, the metabolites may be detected in urine for 1 to 3 days. In chronic heavy cocaine users, it may be detected for 10 to 22 days after the last dose. It can be snorted or sniffed intranasally or injected intravenously or smoked with tobacco. |
