Anti Tg autoantibody measurements are recommended if Anti TPO autoantibody is negative, but clinical suspicion of Autoimmune thyroid disease is high. Detection of these antibodies in cases of Neonatal hypothyroidism suggests transplacental antibody transfer particularly if there is a maternal history of autoimmune thyroiditis. |
