| Usage: |
Amikacin is used to treat severe blood infections by susceptible strains of gram-negative bacteria. Toxic effects due to overdosing include ataxia, auditory toxicity, and nephrotoxicity. Hence monitoring the dosage level is extremely important especially in patients with renal impairment. |
