| Usage: |
This assay is used for the evaluation of patients with suspected Sarcoidosis. The ACE activity reflects the severity of Sarcoidosis showing 68% positivity in stage I of the disease, 86% in stage II, and 91% in stage III. There is a marked decrease in ACE activity in patients of Sarcoidosis on Prednisone therapy. It may also be increased in Gaucher disease, Leprosy, Psoriasis, Amyloidosis, and Histoplasmosis. |
